Two Kurdish men arrested in Piranshahr amid ongoing crackdown

Iranian intelligence forces arrested two Kurdish men, Vaiseh Mohamadpour, 23, and Akam Abubakri, 24, in Piranshahr, according to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.
Agents from the Intelligence Department arrested the two residents of Piranshahr at about 3 a.m. local time Monday, March 30, 2026.
The forces raided their homes without presenting a warrant and used violence during the arrests. Authorities transferred both men to an undisclosed location.
The arrests come amid a broader wave of detentions targeting Kurds in recent days.
Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for the arrests or any charges against the two men.
