Iranian intelligence forces have detained two Kurdish men, Shahab Foroughirad and Shahram Azizi, in Mahabad, and their whereabouts remain unknown more than 10 days after their arrest.
Hengaw Organization for Human Rights has learned that agents from the Intelligence Department raided their homes in Mahabad early Tuesday, March 24, 2026, and arrested them.
A source familiar with the case said the arrests took place around 2 a.m., when plainclothes forces entered the homes without presenting warrants and used violence while detaining the two men.
Both Foroughirad and Azizi are married and have children, the source said.
Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for their arrest, the charges against them, or their place of detention. Efforts by their families to obtain information about their fate have so far been unsuccessful.
