Vahed Soltani held in legal limbo following arrest in Piranshahr

Iranian authorities have held Vahed Soltani, a 21-year-old Kurdish man from Piranshahr, in legal limbo for 10 days following his arrest, with no information available regarding his fate or whereabouts.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, government forces raided Soltani’s family home in the village of Khorenj, in Piranshahr County, on May 8, 2026, and arrested him without presenting a warrant before transferring him to an undisclosed location.
Informed sources stated that since his arrest, Soltani has been denied access to a lawyer, family visits, and even a brief phone call with his relatives.
His current whereabouts, legal status, and any charges against him remain unknown.
