Three Kurdish men arrested by Iranian intelligence forces in Mahabad

Iranian government forces have arrested three Kurdish men, including two brothers, during raids on the village of Bafrawan near Mahabad and transferred them to an undisclosed location.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, forces affiliated with Iran’s Intelligence Ministry raided the homes of Mansour Abbasi, Ahad Kheiri and his brother Vahed Kheiri in the village of Bafrawan, located in the Shamāt district of Mahabad county.

The arrests were carried out at dawn on Monday, May 25, 2026 without the presentation of warrants or any legal authorization.

No information has been made available regarding the reasons for their arrests, the charges brought against them or their whereabouts.

Repeated efforts by the families of the three detainees to obtain information from security and judicial authorities have so far yielded no results.
