Hengaw – Sunday, May 31, 2026
Iranian authorities have kept five residents of Baghjar village in Sabzevar County, Razavi Khorasan Province, in detention for two weeks following their arrest and transfer to Torbat-e Heydarieh Prison. The detainees have been identified as Javad Qazimanesh, Javad Seyedhaji Naqdali, Yousef Memar, Ali Asghar Jafari, and Morteza Babak.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, security forces simultaneously raided several homes in Baghjar village, located in the Central District of Sabzevar County, on Sunday, May 17, 2026, and arrested the five men without presenting a warrant.
Informed sources told Hengaw that the arrests were connected to the men's participation in the January 2026 protests. Following initial interrogations, they were transferred to Torbat-e Heydarieh Prison.
Despite the passage of two weeks, judicial and security authorities have refused to clarify their legal status or approve bail for their temporary release, leaving them detained in a state of uncertainty.
