Kurdish man Shahram Pasupish arrested in Piranshahr, whereabouts remain unknown

Three days after the arrest of Shahram Pasupish, a Kurdish man from Piranshahr, no information has been made available regarding his fate, health condition or place of detention.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Iranian government forces raided the family home of Shahram Pasupish in the village of Chiane, near Piranshahr, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, and arrested him without presenting a warrant.
He was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location.
No information has been provided regarding the reasons for his arrest or the charges brought against him. Repeated efforts by his family to obtain information from security institutions in Piranshahr have so far yielded no results.
Hengaw has also learned that on Saturday, April 25, 2026, Ezzeddin Pasupish, Shahram’s cousin, was likewise arrested by Iranian government forces and transferred to a detention center in Urmia.
