Hengaw – Saturday, June 6, 2026
Seventeen days after the arrest of Alireza Ghasemnejad, Armin Asadian and Ahmadreza Kouhzadiani, three Kurdish residents of Aseman Abad in Ilam Province, no information is available regarding their whereabouts or fate.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, government forces raided the homes of the three men on Thursday, May 21, 2026, and arrested them violently without presenting warrants.
Despite more than two weeks having passed since their detention, none of the three men has been permitted to contact their families. They have also been denied access to legal counsel.
No information has been made available regarding the reasons for their arrests, any charges brought against them, their place of detention, or their current condition. Repeated efforts by their families to obtain information from judicial and security authorities have so far been unsuccessful.
