Protest detainee Hossein Bahadori’s four-year prison sentence upheld on appeal

The Iranian Judiciary has upheld a prison sentence of four years, one month, and 17 days against Hossein Bahadori, a resident of Hamedan who was prosecuted in connection with the January protests.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Branch 11 of the Hamedan Province Court of Appeals recently upheld the sentence issued against Bahadori.

Earlier, Branch Two of the Hamedan Revolutionary Court sentenced him to three years, six months, and one day in prison on charges of “assembly and collusion to commit crimes against the country's internal and external security,” and an additional seven months and 16 days for “propaganda against the state,” bringing his total sentence to four years, one month, and 17 days.

Bahadori was arrested by Iranian security forces during the January protests and spent 23 days in detention before being released on bail of one billion tomans pending the conclusion of judicial proceedings.

He has previously been arrested by Iranian authorities in connection with his civil and social activities.
