Abdollah Mahmoudi sentenced to three years and six months in prison

An Iranian court has sentenced Abdollah Mahmoudi, a civil activist from Kuhdasht in Lorestan Province, to three years and six months in prison.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mahmoudi was convicted on charges of "propaganda in support of the Zionist regime" and "propaganda against the state." He has been given 20 days to report to the sentence enforcement office to begin serving his sentence.

Mahmoudi was arrested on February 3, 2026, after spending 28 days in hiding following attempts by Iranian security forces to detain him that began on January 6, 2026.

He spent 12 days in the Intelligence Department detention facility in Khorramabad before being released on bail after approximately two months in custody, pending the completion of judicial proceedings.

Mahmoudi had previously been arrested during the 12-Day War and, in a separate case, was sentenced to two years in prison.
