IRGC holds military meeting in Ravansar as authorities ban access to Kurdistan border areas

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) held a large military meeting in Ravansar attended by senior commanders before deploying heavily armed military convoys toward the border areas of Paveh. At the same time, military and government authorities declared the Kurdistan border strip a prohibited zone and banned civilian access amid heightened security measures and the increasing militarization of the region.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, a large meeting was held today at the IRGC headquarters in Ravansar. The session was attended and addressed by Kourosh Asiabani, commander of the IRGC's Najaf Ashraf Regional Headquarters in western Iran, and was attended by IRGC personnel, Basij forces, and armed local auxiliaries, commonly known as Jash.

According to Hengaw's sources, immediately after the meeting concluded, a large IRGC convoy equipped with heavy and semi-heavy weaponry departed Ravansar for the town of Ghouri Qaleh. Local sources confirmed that the forces were likely being deployed to the border areas of Paveh County and the Nowsud border strip.

Coinciding with these military movements, Iran's Border Guard Command issued an official warning declaring all movement, presence, and civilian activity within the border strip and designated restricted areas strictly prohibited. Citing "the preservation of public security and the prevention of potential risks," the authorities urged local residents to refrain from approaching the border areas.
