PJAK reports arrest of member Sirwan Habibi in Kamyaran

Sirwan Habibi, a member of the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK), was arrested by Iranian security forces in Kamyaran and remains unaccounted for several days later, the party said in a statement published on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Based on information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Habibi, a native of Sanandaj (Sine) and a member of PJAK, was detained in the Ba’ath neighborhood of Kamyaran in the early hours of Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

According to PJAK, security forces pursued the motorcycle carrying Habibi at around 1:00 a.m. before striking it with their vehicle at high speed. Habibi was thrown from the motorcycle and subsequently arrested, with the forces using violence against him.

PJAK said residents gathered at the scene to protest the arrest. Intelligence Department forces then fired into the air in an attempt to disperse the crowd.
