Hengaw Human Rights Organization's statement on the execution of Mostafa Salimi

12 April 2020 11:36

Following the quick and accurate information by Hengaw regarding the arresting of political prisoner Mostafa Salimi, the organization was confronted with unjust accusations and misconduct on the part of Iranian state-run medias and some other overseas movements. In this regard, the Hengaw colleagues consider it appropriate to express some points to enlighten public opinio:

Hengaw is an independent civil and human Rights organization that has no affiliation with any of political parties and movements in Kurdistan. It points out that all the activities of this organization are voluntary and humanitarian and despite the financial problems, does not receive a budget from any political party and other organizations.

Hengaw bases it's general policies about the human Rights in Kurdistan on the universal and human principles and rules based on the International Charter of Human Rights and carries out its mission of reporting the violation of human rights in Kurdistan without discrimination. It's worth noting that this is why it has always faced with prejudice and intolerance of some political parties.

Regardless of the charges against Mostafa Salimi, the organization basically don't believe in the mechanism of fair trial of this person in any of the proceedings and strongly condemns his inhumane execution.

Regarding the extradition of Mostafa Salimi by the Kurdistan Regional Government and legal issues surrounding it, in terms of its complexity and ambiguity, Hengaw ethically refrained from any hasty comments and makes  his statement conditional on announcing the outcome of the committee investigating the case. It's worth noting that in this regard, Hengaw makes all it's efforts to pursue the issue through the civil and human rights organizations in Kurdistan region.
