Kurdish citizen from Javanrood sentenced to 12 years in prison

 Hengaw: A Kurdish  citizen from Javanrood district of Kermanshah Province in Iranian Kurdistan , who was  detained  by the Iranian intelligence service in late October 2020, has been sentenced to prison by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, a Kurdish citizen from  Javanrood, identified as Salar Khan Ahmadi, has been sentenced to 12 years suspended imprisonment by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Paveh of Kermanshah Province , headed  by Judge Bahmani.

 According to an informed source, the sentence was issued on charges of membership in the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), and the lawyer of this Kurdish citizen has protested the verdict therefore the case has been sent to the Kermanshah Court of Appeals for reconsideration.

 Salar Khan Ahmadi returned to his hometown at the end of October 2020 after separating from the Kurdistan Workers' Party and was detained by the Iranian intelligence services and was released on bail of one billion Tomans ($40000) a few days later.

 Salar Khan Ahmadi was a member of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) for five years and has fought against ISIS in Rojava (Syrian Kurdistan ) for several years.
