Kurdish activist Dana Samadi detained in Marivan makes a short phone call with His family

Hengaw : A Kurdish environmental activist detained  in Marivan district of Kurdistan has been able to contact  his family after two weeks  in detention. 

 According to a report received by  Hengaw Human Rights Organization, during the past few days, Dana Samadi, a Kurdish environmental activist from Marivan, spoke to his family by telephone and said only in Persian: "I am safe and do not ask any questions."

 A source close to Samadi's family told Hengaw that the family of this environmental activist had been informed by relatives that Dana Samadi had been transferred to the Sanandaj Intelligence Detention Center after being detained by Iranian  Intelligence Service.

 Dana Samadi's family has visited the Marivan and Sanandaj intelligence offices several times over the past two weeks, but has so far failed to visit their son.

 Dana Samadi was detained  on Saturday, January 9, 2020, following the mass detention of Kurdish citizens in Marivan and other cities in Iranian Kurdistan.
