Hengaw: A Kurdish citizen from Khorasan (Eastern Iran) who was arrested by the Iranian security services last month has been transferred to Mashhad Prison.
According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, June 24, 2021, Mohammad Niroumand, a Kurdish cultural activist from Khorasan, was transferred to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad after a month of detention in the Iranian Intelligence detention center.
Mohammad Niroumand is from the village of "Polgard" in Hezar Masjed, Kalat Naderi district of Khorasan Razavi province, Eastern Iran.
He is active in the field of the Kurdish language, culture, and art and lives in Mashhad, and is a construction worker.
Mohammad Niroumand, 36, was arrested by the Iranian Intelligence Service In Mashhad on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, and was denied access to a lawyer for one month.
This Kurdish activist has been charged by the 903rd Branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court of Mashhad, headed by Ali Soleimani, with "propaganda against the regime" and "affiliation with opposition groups."
