Hengaw Organisation For Human Rights on Thursday confirmed the reports of Iranian border guards killing two Kurdish porters (better known as kolbar in Kurdish) in the province of Western Urmia.

Hangaw Organisation for Human Rights identified the first victim as Jawid Hakkari, from Kalarash village of Salmas district.

He was reportedly killed by border guards near Shno (Oshnaviyeh).

Elsewhere in the border areas near Targawar village on the vicinity of Urmia, Iranian border guards killed another Kurdish porter by opened fire, According Hengaw Organisation for Human Rights . The watchdog identified the second victim as Hashim Tahourian, 23.

According to Hangaw’s records, a total of eight Kurdish porters have been killed over the past three weeks in the Western Azarbaijan province only.
