Following the wave of arrests of citizens from Abdanan city of Ilam province, in the Monday evening protests of the city, at least 19 citizens have been arrested in the city by the security institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to the report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, in the early morning of Tuesday, October 18, 2022, the security forces of the Islamic Republic raided the houses of citizens in the city of Abdanan and arrested more than 20 citizens. The identity of 19 arrestees has been verified for Hengaw till now.
The identity of the 19 citizens who have been verified for Hengaw is as follows:
Ahmad Alizadeh, Saeid Rahmati, Kurosh Rahmati, Mohammad Buchani, Hamid Buchani, Jalal Abdollahi, Reza Moradkhani, Hassan Lalezari, Musa Pirani, Hossein Kulivandi, Ali Kulivandi, Behrouz Sheikhi, Ruhollah Rahimi, Musa Sabzevari, Sajjad Rahmani, Amir Hossein Valizadeh, Sajjad Kheiri, Behzad Kheiri, and Armin Kheiri.
It should be noted that those people were arrested after the public protests in Abadan on the evening of Monday, October 17, which turned violent with the intervention of the security forces.
Hengaw reported earlier that the government forces shot at the protestors, and at least 15 citizens were injured.
Ahmad Alizadeh is a teacher at the Department of Education and Sajjad Rahmani is a retired police officer who has been arrested. Hengaw had announced in a tweet yesterday that during the transfer of arrested people to Ilam detention centers, there was a conflict between the people of Abdanan and the security forces, and as a result of the government forces shooting, a woman was injured.
Hengaw sources have reported that the injured woman is Sajjad Rahmani's mother.
