A 30-year-old businessman from the Bayuran village of Sardasht, West Azerbaijan (Urmia), named Hemin Hamzeh, was killed by direct fire from the Iranian government forces, and two others were wounded.

According to the report received by the Hengaw human rights organization, at around noon on Friday, November 11, 2022, Iranian border guards raided the village of Bayuran in Sardasht to confiscate the goods of local traders.

According to an informed source, as a result of the shootings by these forces, a local tradesman named Hemin Hamzeh, who is also married and the father of two children, was shot in the chest and died of his injuries after being transferred to medical centers in Sardasht.

The killing of Hemin Hamazeh caused anger among the village people, and they smashed a car belonging to the Iranian forces and blocked the road to Sardasht city.

It should be noted that a large number of people gathered in front of the Sardasht governorate office to protest the killing of Hemin Hamzah, and at least two people were injured by direct fire from the government forces, one of whom was identified as Ameneh Hamzah, Hemin’s sister.

Ameneh Hamzeh has now been transferred to medical centers in Urmia for treatment.

According to the footage sent to Hengaw, a large number of people participated in the funeral ceremony of Hemin Hamzeh and chanted the slogan "The martyrs do not die."

Hengaw’s sources have reported that the atmosphere of Sardasht city has become highly secure, and Iranian repressive forces have been deployed in most areas of the city in fear of the people's uprising.
