Three Kurds arrested in Oshnavieh, Qasr-e Shirin, and Piranshahr; Whereabouts unknown

Three Kurdish men — Kamal Oqabi from Oshnavieh (Shno), Askar Najafi from Sarpol-e Zahab, and Hassan Falaeian, also known as Hawar Rojhelati, a writer and poet from Piranshahr — have been arrested by Iran’s Intelligence Department forces and transferred to undisclosed locations as part of an ongoing wave of crackdowns.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Friday, June 27, 2025, Kamal Oqabi, from Bala Geer village in Oshnavieh, was arrested at his home during a raid by intelligence forces. Three days later, no information is available regarding his fate or whereabouts. Notably, he had previously been arrested in July last year.

On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, Askar Najafi, from Sarpol-e Zahab, was arrested at his workplace in the Qasr-e Shirin market and taken to an unknown location. Five days after his arrest, there is still no information regarding his condition or location.

On Sunday, June 22, 2025, Hassan Falaeian, also known as Hawar Rojhelati, a writer and poet from Piranshahr, was arrested at his shop by intelligence forces and transferred to an undisclosed location. Eight days later, his fate remains unknown.

Sources reported that these arrests were carried out without presenting arrest warrants. As of this report, no clear information is available regarding the reasons for their arrests, the charges against them, or their current conditions and locations.
