Arash Molaahmadi taken by security forces in Mahabad, family left without answers

Amid the ongoing wave of arrests targeting Kurds in various cities, Arash Molaahmadi, a young man from Mahabad, has been detained by Iranian security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Molaahmadi was arrested on Thursday, June 26, 2025, in Mahabad by agents of the Islamic Republic’s security forces, shortly after the ceasefire between Iran and Israel.
A source close to the Molaahmadi family confirmed that he was taken into custody without a court order. Despite the family’s persistent efforts, no information has been made available regarding his fate.
The reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, his place of detention, and his current condition remain unknown.
