The Islamic Republic of Iran's judicial system has charged the engineer Parham Parvari from Saqqaz with moharebeh (enmity against God) after he was forcibly detained during the public demonstrations in Tehran by IRI government forces.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Parham Parvari, the 25-year-old son of Mazhar, was charged with enmity against God on November 9, 2022, in the Evin courthouse in Tehran. Mazhar Parvari said that on Monday, October 3, 2022, his son was detained by government forces while returning from work in the middle of widespread protests in Tehran.
It is important to note that Parham Parvari has been denied access to a lawyer and communication with his family up until this point, even though according to Islamic Republic laws he has those rights. He was only able to inform them of Moharebeh's allegations against him through a brief phone call to his family. He is presently imprisoned in Evin Prison's Ward 209.
Parham Parvari, a swimming coach who has won numerous championships at various levels, worked as an engineer for a Tehran-based engineering firm.
One of the most serious crimes under the Islamic Penal Code of the Islamic Republic of Iran is called Moharebeh (enmity against God), for which the death penalty and other horrific, barbaric punishments have been contemplated.
While expressing deep concern about the situation of Parham, Hengaw highlights that Parham has been denied all fundamental rights to a fair trial ever since his brutal arrest.
