Kurdish civil activist and photographer Mansour Rahimi arrested in Mahabad

Iranian security forces have arrested 34-year-old Kurdish civil activist and photographer Mansour Rahimi in Mahabad, amid an ongoing wave of arrests targeting Kurds. 

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Rahimi was detained on Friday, July 11, 2025, during a raid at his father’s house in Mahabad. 

Sources close to the family reported that security agents confiscated all personal electronic devices belonging to Rahimi and other family members during the arrest. 

No information is available regarding the reasons for his arrest, possible charges, or his current whereabouts.
