Following the uprisings in Takab to support the people of Mahabad, at least seven Kurdish citizens in this city, Omid Abbasi, Sirwan Shiukhi, Vahid Deyham, Kamaran Qaderi, Bahram Akrami, Saman Mahmoudi, and Mehdi Moradi, were abducted and transferred to an unknown location by Iranian government forces.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, November 21, 2022, and Tuesday, November 22, 2022, Omid Abbasi, Sirwan Shiukhi (both 22 years old), Vahid Deyham (both 26 years old), Kamaran Qaderi, Bahram Akrami (both 25 years old), and Mehdi Moradi (23 years old) were abducted by the Iranian government forces in Takab, West Azerbaijan (Urmia) Province.

Also, on Thursday, November 25, 2022, another citizen from Takab, named Saman Mahmoudi, was arrested by the Iranian government forces, and his fate is still unknown.

After being abducted, all these citizens were taken to an unknown location by the Iranian government forces, and their condition is still unknown.

This mass arrest happened while the citizens of Takab had started a protest rally for several nights in a row to announce their support to the people of Mahabad.
