The Islamic Revolutionary Court in Ilam convicted Yazdan Arefinia (Ayat) from Abdanan, who now resides in Tehran and serves as the director of the Henaras law firm, to two counts of imprisonment as well as a travel ban and a ban on entering his hometown.
According to the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Yazdan Arefinia, a civil activist and lawyer, is in his third month of detention. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison by the 1st branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Ilam on the charges of "forming gangs to disrupt security" and 7 months and 15 days in prison on the charges of "propaganda activity against the regime."
Also, this civil rights activist has been sentenced to a 2-year ban on entering Abdanan of Ilam, a 2-year ban on leaving the country, and the revocation of his passport for two years.
In addition to working in civil, cultural, and legal fields, Yazdan Arefinia was the director of the "Abdanan Dar Gozereh Zaman" channel and was also involved in charity activities.
This citizen had collected more than 2,000 signatures for the release of the recently arrested people of Abdanan before he was arrested by government forces.
Yazdan Arefinia was abducted by government forces in Tehran on Monday, November 9, 1401, and then taken to a detention center. Until now, he has been detained without access to a lawyer or having visitors.
