Osman Esmaeili, a labor activist, was abducted by government forces

Government forces abducted Osman Esmaeili, a labor activist from Saqqez, and took him to an unknown place.

According to reports received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, government forces abducted Osman Esmaeili at Saqqez's "Shohada" street.

The follow-ups on Esmaeili's condition and fate by his family have been futile. His whereabouts and health condition remain unknown. 

This well-known labor activist was also arrested on May 9, 2022, by forces of the Intelligence Department of Saqqez and was transferred to the detention center of this department in Sanandaj. He was temporarily released on a 140 million toman bailout from the Central Prison of Saqqez. 

Osman Esmaeili is one of the well-known labor activists from Saqqez who has been arrested by government institutions during the last few years.
