Khabat Shakiba, a labor and environmental activist from Sanandaj, has been sentenced to 2 years in prison by the Revolutionary Court of this city.
 

According to the report received by the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Khabat Shakiba, one of the labor activists, was sentenced to 2 years in prison by branch 1 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court headed by Judge "Saeidi" in charge of "membership and propaganda for one of the Kurdish parties".
 

According to a source close to Shakiba's family, the sentence issued in the appeals court has been changed to two years of suspended imprisonment for 30 months.

 

Khabat Shakiba, 33, one of the labor activists from Sanandaj was arrested by the forces of the intelligence department on Saturday, January 29, 2022. After 34 days of detention, he was temporarily released from Sanandaj Central Prison with a bail of 150 million tomans until the end of the proceedings.

 

In the summer of 2018, he was sentenced to 3 months in prison by the Sanandaj Criminal Court in charge of illegal assembly on International Labor Day and participation in the Nowruz celebrations, which was later changed to a fine.
