Sherko Roshani has been in abeyance for five months since his arrest

Sherko Roshani, a 32-year-old Kurdish citizen from Mariwan, is still in abeyance after spending the last five months in custody. He has recently been transferred from Marivan prison to the city's intelligence detention center.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Sherko Roshani was transferred once again from the prison to the Marivan intelligence detention center.

Just a week after Sherko Roshani had been transferred from the intelligence detention center in Marivan to prison, once again summoned to the intelligence detention center. He also spent some time during his detention period in the intelligence detention center in Sanandaj.

According to an informed source, this latest transfer has taken place while the process of depositing bail and temporary release for Sherko Roshani from Mariwan prison was underway.

The source added that despite Sherko Roshani’s interrogations having been processed twice, the authorities at intelligence agencies have delayed his bail and extended his detention.

Hengaw has learned that Sherko Roshani has been deprived of his basic rights throughout his detention, including access to a lawyer, visiting family, and other fundamental rights.

Sherko Roshani was arrested and taken into custody by the Iranian intelligence services personnel in Marivan on December 11, 2022.
