Three residents of Piranshahr have been sentenced to a combined 11 years of imprisonment

Jamal Alizadeh, Abdulrahman Mohammadi Arshad, and Hasel Ghadoo, all from Piranshahr, who were detained during the "women, life, freedom" movement, have been sentenced to imprisonment by Iranian judicial court.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, "Ojaghloo", the head judge of the second brunch of the revolutionary court of Mahabad, has sentenced Jamal Alizadeh, Abdolrahman Mohammadi Arshad, known as Doctor, and Hasel Ghadoo, all from Piranshahr, to a combined 11 years of imprisonment.


The trial of Abdulrahman Mohammadi Arshad took place on April 16th, 2023, by the revolutionary court of Mahabad, where Mr. Mohammadi Arshad was found guilty of "cahoots and protest" as well as "propaganda" against the regime for 3 years and 7 months of improvement for the first charge and 8 months for the second charge.

Jamal Ghadoo, another resident, was convicted of the exact same charges by the same court.

On Tuesday, April 18, 2023 Jamal Alizadeh was convicted of cooperating with western media and sentenced to 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment by Iranian revolutionary court. On October 18th, 2022 Jamal Alizadeh was arrested at his home. After 4 months in detention, on February 18, 2022 he was released on a 3 billion toman bail.

Hasel Ghadoo and Abdulrahman Mohammadi Arshad were both taken into custody by the government authorities in Piranshahr on September 22nd, 2022, and they were both released on bail while waiting trial in the amount of 3 billion toman.

Further noted was that Abdulrahman Mohammadi Arshad had been convicted of "disturbing public order" and sentenced to 18 months in prison and 40 lashes. Hasel Ghadoo was also convicted of the same charges and sentenced to 4 months in prison and 30 lashes.
