Keyvan Zandkarimi, a Kurdish civil activist from Sanandaj, has been arrested once again by the Iranian government forces and taken to an unknown location. This is while he was temporarily released on bail five days ago.

 

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, May 7, 2023, Keyvan Zandkarimi, a Kurdish civil activist from Sanandaj, was arrested by the Iranian government forces.

 

So far, no detailed information has been made available about the reasons for the arrest of this Kurdish civil activist by the Iranian government forces.

 

On Tuesday, April 22, 2023, after four months of detention, Keyvan Zandkarimi was temporarily released from Sanandaj prison with a bail of three billion tomans (60,000 USD) until the end of the proceedings.

 

This civil activist was arrested by the Iranian government forces at his workplace located in Sanandaj on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. He had spent two months in the detention center of the Iranian government institutions and another two months in Sanandaj Central Prison.

 

Keyvan Zandkarimi, who has been deprived of access to a lawyer for the last four months of his detention, was previously arrested by the government forces on Monday, March 21, 2022, during the Newroz celebration in one of Sanandaj's parks.
