Heresh Naghshbandi an Artist from Sanandaj and Amir Welayeti from Tehran who each had lost an eye in crackdowns during the nationwide “woman, Life, Freedom” uprising have been detained by the authorities.
According to reports obtained by the Hengaw organization for human rights, Amir Walayeti from Tehran was taken into custody by government forces at his residence in Tehran on Thursday, May 18th, 2023.
Amir welayeti, a barber was shot in the eye with pellet gun during a crackdown by government forces in Narmak neighborhood in Tehran and lost his eye.
Additionally, Hirsh Naqshbandi, an actor and theater director from Sanandaj, has also been detained by government forces in recent days.
Heresh Naqshbandi lost his left eye during last year's protests September, 22nd, 2022, when government forces shot him in the eye with pellet gun.
Currently, the specific reasons behind the detention and the charges leveled against these two injured protesters remain undisclosed. Furthermore, the exact location of their detention remains unknown.
