In the month of May this year, government forces in the Islamic Republic of Iran have detained or forcibly disappeared at least 107 individuals, including 21 women. This distressing trend particularly affects the Kurdish population, accounting for half of cases.
 

According to meticulous statistic reports by The Hengaw organization for Human Rights, revealing that during May 2023, government entities of the Islamic Republic have detained or forcibly disappeared a verified total of 107 citizens across various cities in Iran. 
 

Among the detained population, 54 cases out of the overall arrests pertaining to Kurdish nationals and the rest involve 12 Baloch Nationals and 8 Turk civil activists. 
 

Notably, the pressure exerted by security entities on religious minorities has intensified in recent months. In May alone, at least 11 activists associated with religious minorities in Iran have been detained. Of those, six Baha'i adherents individuals, while three Kurdish activists adhere to the Yarsan religion. Additionally, two Sunni activists in Kurdistan and Balochistan have been arrested by government forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
 

At least 21 women activists, 6 reporters, 6 teachers and one college student among the detainees have been verified and documented the center of statistics for Hengaw.
