Eight Baloch nationals from Zahedan have been detained by government forces on Friday, June 9, 2023, Yaser Toutazehi, Rouhollah Shahbakhsh, Hamed Kharkuhi, and Ali Riggi, members of the Maki mosque security guards along with Parviz Riggi, Abdullah Kherot, Saeed Gorgij, and Ibrahim Gorgij, were apprehended in Zahedan.

The Hengaw organization for Human Rights, has  obtained reports indicating the events leading to the arrests. Yaser Toutazehi, Rouhollah Shahbakhsh, Hamed Kharkuhi, and Ali Riggi were taken into custody while returning home from Friday prayers at the Zahedan Grand Mosque. Notably, these four individuals held positions within the mosque's authorities, which adds further significance to their detention.

Additionally, later that afternoon, government forces detained Parviz Riggi, Abdullah Kherot, Saeed Gorgij, and Ibrahim Gorgij, all residents of Zahedan. The Baloch Activists Campaign raised concerns about the manner in which the arrests took place, alleging that severe violence and physical assault were employed by the government forces during the apprehension of Parviz Riggi, Abdullah Kherot, Saeed Gorgij, and Ibrahim Gorgij.

Unfortunately, at present, precise details regarding the charges, location, and conditions of detention remain unavailable. The lack of information regarding these critical aspects of the detainees' situation underscores the urgent need for transparency and accountability in relation to their arrest and subsequent treatment by government forces.
