Iranian authorities in Piranshahr have taken Soraya Qeytarani into custody

Soraya Qeytarani, a resident of PiranShahar, has been apprehended by government forces and relocated to an undisclosed facility. Correspondingly, her brother was detained by the same forces two weeks prior.
 

According to a report obtained by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, on Monday, June 26, 2023, nearly 20 members of the PiranShahar Intelligence Agency conducted a raid on the residence of Soraya Qeytarani’s parents in the village of "Kani Mala," resulting in her arrest.
 

An informed source stated that Soraya Qeytarani was brutally assaulted and apprehended with excessive force and violence and the personnel from the Intelligence Agency proceeded to search their familial house.
 

At the time of this report, detailed information regarding the grounds for the arrest, the specific charges leveled against Soraya Qeytarani, as well as her present location and well-being remains unknown.
 

Notably, it is important to note that Soraya’s brother, Sadreddin Qeytarani, was also apprehended by the PiranShahar Intelligence Agency on Monday, June 12th, 2023.
