The murder of a prisoner in Urmia Central Prison following a brutal fight between inmates

Prisoner Irfan Bebrizadeh was murdered in a recent brutal fight that broke out among a number of the inmates in Urmia Central prison.

Prisoner Irfan Bebrizadeh was murdered in a recent brutal fight that broke out among a number of the inmates in Urmia Central prison.
 

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Irfan Bebrizadeh, a prisoner from Urmia who was 26 years old, was recently murdered following a brutal fight in the counseling ward of Urmia Central Prison.
 

During a fight involving inmates charged with grave crimes, this prisoner was murdered with several knife wounds. One inmate was also arrested on suspicion of intentional murder.

 

Irfan Bebrizadeh was previously arrested on charges of theft and sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Islamic Republic of Iran's judicial system.
 

Hengaw has consistently issued warnings over the lack of life security for prisoners in the Islamic Republic of Iran's prisons. In addition to the drug-selling mafia, all types of cold weapons are reportedly constantly brought into the prison environment with the supervision and financial backing of the prison personnel, based on investigations and evidence found in the prisons of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
