A Christian convert has been subjected to flagging while incarcerated

Zaman Fadaii, a Christian convert from Rasht was subjected to 50 lashes of flagging for being “delayed for returning to prison” by the Evin prison prosecutor’s office. He was previously granted amnesty while serving his 6 years imprisonment sentence and subjected to serve the two years prison in exile of which he was convicted of.
 

According to reports obtained by the Hengaw organization for human rights, the flagging charges in 50 lashes against Zaman Fadaii, a Christian convert from Rasht was implemented on Sunday, June 25th, 2023, in brunch one of executive prosecution for criminal charges in Evin Prison.
 

It is important to note that Mr. Fadaii must be transferred to Nehbandan in South Khorasan Province to serve his two years imprisonment in exile sentence.
 

Zaman Fadaii was sentenced to 6 years in prison and two years in exile  in June 2019. After serving 4 years of the initial charges he was granted amnesty in January 2023 and was discharged. 
 

Mr. Fadaii was initially arrested May 2016, during a church ceremony in Rasht, conducted by the intelligence forces of Rasht and was subsequently granted temporary release on bail until the conclusion of the legal proceedings.
