Zhina Modaresgorji, a well-known journalist and women's rights advocate from Sanandaj, is currently being held under a new detention order due to a new security charge. While she is imprisoned at Sanandaj Prison right now, she is additionally prohibited from taking an academic exam.
 

In a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Zhina Modaresgorji, a journalist from Sanandaj, was recently charged with "collaborating with hostile countries" as a result of an inquiry by the General and Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj.
 

Additionally, the arrest warrant for this advocate for women's rights, which had already been extended for 40 days in May, has now been extended once more until July 11 of this year.
 

Hengaw has been informed that Zhina ModaresGorji was not allowed to attend one of her academic exams for the Master's Degree in Sociology at Islamic Azad University in Sanandaj.
 

Hengaw previously reported that Zhina ModaresGorji had been charged with "spreading lies" by the Sanandaj Islamic Revolutionary Court in addition to being accused of "acting against national security by founding and being a member of an illegal group."
 

After spending a month in solitary confinement at the Sanandaj Correctional Center, Zhina Modaresgorji was sent to the main prison on May 9, 2023. She was abducted by government agents on her way home from work on Monday, April 10, 2023.

 
The Intelligence Department's agents in Sanandaj City previously detained this women's rights activist on September 21, 2022. She was temporarily released on a bail of 100 million tomans on October 30 of last year after 40 days of confinement in the Sanandaj prison's women's ward until the end of the proceedings.
