In a recent development, at least six Azerbaijani Turkish activists hailing from Khoda-Afarin have been apprehended by Iranian government forces and subsequently relocated to an undisclosed facilities.
 

As conveyed in a report received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, on Friday, July 7th, 2023, security forces detained a minimum of six Turkish activists, specifically identified as Mohammad Alipour, Saadullah Sasani, Rahim Sasani, Mohammad Rezai, Jafar Nouri, and Mustafa Avazpour, in the town of Khoda-Afarin, in East Azerbaijan province. Following their detention, these individuals were transferred to an undisclosed location.
 

Reliable sources have indicated that the arrest of these six activists took place yesterday afternoon during their visit to the historic bridge in Khoda-Afarin, when they were apprehended by government forces.
