Numerous citizens were detained in Oshnoviyeh; Hengaw has verified the identities of six people

The IRGC's intelligence division has begun a new wave of arresting Kurdish residents in Oshnoviyeh (Shno), and so far Hengaw has verified the identities of six of them: AbdulKarim Kakol, Solayman Galwani, Khizr Abdulahi, Osman Hamzezadeh, Aram Shabani, and Fhkhraldin Podat.
 

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, On Sunday, July 9, 2023, between two and four in the morning, members of the IRGC's intelligence department conducted a raid on the residences in Oshnoviyeh and detained dozens.

 

Hengaw sources reported that the forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' intelligence department forcibly detained Solayman Galwani, the brother of Salam Galvani, who was killed during the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" movement, in Oshnoviyeh this morning.

 

These forces barged into Hasan Nuran village in Oshnoviyeh at three in the morning and detained AbdulKarim Kakol, 36, one of the civic activists and former political prisoners.

 

In this wave of arrests, these authorities also detained 50-year-old Oshnoviyeh residents Aram Shabani and Khizr Abdulahi, Osman Hamzezadeh from the village of "Kuroshabad," and Fakhraldin Podat from the village of "Batrian."

 

Hengaw sources indicate that there have been further arrests, and an investigation is still ongoing to verify the identities of other detainees.

 

It should be mentioned that government forces have used violence during the detention of these people.

 

The fate, whereabouts, and charges against these individuals are undisclosed as of the time this report is being written.
