Over the past few days, the Mahabad Intelligence Department has summoned and subjected Azad Hosseinpouri's siblings, namely Shirin Hosseinpouri, Fariba Hosseinpouri, Shima Hosseinpouri, and Shahrouz Hosseinpouri, as well as their son-in-law Rahman Esmaili, to threats and pressure.
According to the information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, On Sunday, July 16, 2023, Shima Hosseinpouri and Fariba Hosseinpouri, the sisters of Azad Hosseinpouri, were summoned by the Mahabad Intelligence Department and subjected to a two-hour interrogation, where they were exposed to threats.
Earlier, On Thursday, July 13, Shirin Hosseinpouri, Fariba Hosseinpouri, Shima Hosseinpouri, Shahrouz Hosseinpouri, and Rahman Esmaili were summoned and subjected to several hours of interrogation.
Hengaw has received information that the intelligence department has issued death threats to the members of this family, accusing them of involvement in activities "against the Islamic Republic of Iran" and holding them responsible for the deaths of several individuals in Mahabad.
According to reliable sources, the Mahabad Intelligence Department has reportedly cautioned this family against participating in the ceremony commemorating the victims of the protests.
Furthermore, they have been instructed not to engage in social media activities.
Azad Hosseinpouri, a dentist associated with the Woman, Life, and Freedom movement, was tragically killed by government forces in Mahabad on the evening of Thursday, November 7, 2022.
