Hengaw has received information indicating that Yasin Samsam, a Kurdish protester arrested during the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî" movement in Oshnaviyeh, has been arrested by the Iranian government forces for six months and is currently held in prison within this city with uncertain custodial status.
 

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Despite a six-month detention period, Yasin Samsam continues to be held in custody without a definite outcome. He is currently held at Oshnaviyeh Prison.
 

Hengaw was the first to report on Yasin Samsam's arrest during the nation-wide protests. So far, there has been no update on the current situation of this protester.
 

On Thursday, January 12, 2023, Yasin Samsam was apprehended by the forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' (IRGC) intelligence department due to his participation in the public protests in the city of Oshnaviyeh. After a period of time, he was transferred to Oshnaviyeh prison.
 

According to a reliable source close to Samsam's family, he has been denied access to legal representation and has been unable to have family visits for the past six months.
