Two Kurdish demonstrators brutally assaulted and detained by Iranian authorities

Two individuals, Farhad Pourahmad from Piranshahr and Hiwa Latifi from Saqqez, two Kurdish demonstrators, were forcibly apprehended by government forces and brutally assaulted. The incident has raised significant concerns regarding the well-being of these individuals.
 

According to a report obtained by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, on Thursday, July 20th, 2023, Hiwa Latifi, a protester from Saqqez, was arrested at "Zendan" Square in Saqqez following a brutal beating and violence by government forces.
 

On Wednesday, July 19th, 2023, Farhad Pourahmad, aged 38 from Piranshahr, was also arrested by intelligence forces and brutally assaulted.
 

Eyewitnesses reporting that this particular protester endured severe beatings from four intelligence officers wielding batons and belts before being taken into custody at “Azadi Square” in Piranshahr.
 

Subsequent to their detention, Hiwa Latifi and Farhad Pourahmad were transferred to undisclosed locations, and their current whereabouts and well-being remain unknown. The gravity of their situation has become a subject of profound concern due to the extreme physical assault they suffered during their arrest at the hands of government forces.
