Arman Sangi, a former political prisoner from Baneh, passed away after spending two years in prison and three months following his release. He is the second young Kurdish political prisoner to have passed away shortly after being released in recent days.
 

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization For Human Rights, On Saturday, September 2, 2023, Arman Sangi, a resident of the "Gandoman" village in Baneh and a former political prisoner, passed away under mysterious circumstances.
 

According to reliable sources, Arman Sangi traveled to Shiraz a few days ago, and his body was discovered two days later in the suite of his residence in this city.
 

As of the time of writing this news, Hengaw is actively pursuing developments in this area. The father of the former political prisoner has declined to be interviewed by Hengaw personnel regarding this matter.
 

Despite having no history of heart disease prior to his arrest and conviction, it is now reported that the cause of his death is attributed to "cardiac arrest."
 

In the spring of 2021, Arman Sangi was arrested by the Intelligence Department. Following his sentencing, he was subsequently transferred to Kahrizak prison. He was released from prison this spring upon completing his sentence.
 

Prior to Arman Sangi, on Thursday, August 31, 2023, another former Kurdish political prisoner, Hassan Jojehgluvani, passed away several months after his release from Ardabil Central Prison.
 

Hassan Jojehgluvani, hailing from Piranshahr, displayed symptoms of severe mental and physical illness following his release. Despite seeking medical assistance, his lifeless body was found at his sister's residence.
