Elham Farshad, a young woman from Noshahr, Mazandaran province, has been sentenced to three years and eight months in prison by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran for her protest against compulsory veiling(Hijab).
 

According to reports received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, Elham Farshad, a 29-year-old resident of Noshahr, was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison by Branch 102 of the Criminal Court of Noshahr.

Elham Farshad, in the month of July, 2022, Stood up against a government official's harassment for her veiling, leading to a verbal altercation, which was later shared on social media as a video.
