During the recent protests in Sistan and Baluchestan, organized to commemorate the anniversary of the massacre known as the "Bloody Friday of Zahedan," numerous individuals were detained. So far, the identities of 31 individuals have been confirmed, including six children and minors under the age of 18.
According to reports obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Friday, September 29th, 2023, at least 20 protesters were arrested in Zahedan, seven in Khash, and four others in Mirjaveh during the protests by the forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Based on the information provided by the Haalvsh News outlet, the identities of seven detainees in Khash have been confirmed as follows: Ahmad Naroui (25 years old), Saeed Naroui, two individuals from the Gomshadzehi family (unspecified names), Hamed Barahooyi (17 years old), Daniel Malazehi (16 years old), and Beniamin Malazehi (14 years old).
Additionally, Yaser Rigi, Mohammad Amin Shahnavazi, Zakaria Nasrouyi Rigi, and another individual with the last name Alizahi Shahbakhsh (given name unspecified) were detained in Mirjaveh.
In the meantime, at least 20 individuals were arrested in Zahedan, with their names as follows: Zabir Notizahi (17 years old), Salman Notizahi (18 years old), Shahab Notizahi (19 years old), Ramin Shahbaksh (26 years old), Ismaeil Barahooyi, Idris Gomshadzehi (21 years old), Ghafoor Gargij, Hares Baluch, Ali Lajayi, Yaser Zafar Naroui (20 years old), Rahmatullah Kabdani, Ahmad Mirbaluchzehi (28 years old), Ibrahim Kabdani, Mohammad Aalizahi, Hanif Rakhshani, Yaaqub Gomshadzehi, Amir Hamza Aalizahi (17 years old), Abdul Matin Arbabi, Masoud Hussein, and Omar Baluch (17 years old).
These detentions come in the context of ongoing protests in Sistan and Baluchestan, where residents have been demanding justice for the victims of the "Bloody Friday of Zahedan" massacre, among other grievances.
