Rask– Baloch civilian killed, another arrested by Iranian military forces

Iranian military forces have killed one Baloch civilian and arrested another during an operation near the Parud junction in Rask, Sistan and Baluchestan province.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, forces affiliated with the IRGC and Border Guard Intelligence opened fire on a vehicle carrying Shahram Vatankhah, 26, and Belal Bahramzehi, 25. Vatankhah, a resident of Nasirabad village in Sarbaz County, was fatally shot in the kidney area and died before receiving medical assistance. Bahramzehi was arrested and later transferred to Chabahar.

The Baloch Activists Campaign reported that the incident occurred during a coordinated pursuit of a Toyota Land Cruiser traveling between Pishin and Sarbaz. After the vehicle was stopped, forces opened fire, resulting in Vatankhah’s death.

No official information has been released regarding the reason for Bahramzehi’s arrest, the charges against him, or his current condition.
