Sherko Miraki, a Kurdish citizen from Dehgolan, was apprehended in Tehran during the anniversary of the "Women, Life, and Freedom" (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement and is currently being held in detention with his status shrouded in uncertainty.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Sherko Miraki, hailing from Dehgolan, was taken into custody in Tehran approximately two weeks ago. He was subsequently transferred to Evin Prison, where he has been deprived of family visits and access to legal counsel.
Sources familiar with the situation indicate that Sherko Miraki was a friend of Shadman Ahmadi, who was killed by IRGC forces in Dehgolan during the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" movement.
Sherko Miraki was arrested in Tehran on Saturday, September 16, 2023, and subsequently transported to Evin Prison. As of now, no specific details have emerged regarding the reasons for his arrest or the charges filed against him.
