Two Asylum Seekers lost their lives in Belarus due to severe cold weather

Ismaeil Darabi, a Kurdish resident from Sarpol-e Zahab, and an Arab resident from Ahvaz, both asylum seekers within the borders of Belarus, tragically lost their lives due to extreme cold weather.
According to reports received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, October 29th, 2023, Ismaeil Darabi, a 32 years old asylum seeker from Sarpol-e Zahab, Kermanshah Province (Kermanshan), and another asylum seeker from Ahvaz, whose identity is under review, succumbed to the cold weather in Belarus.
According to a source close to Darabi's family, the bodies of these two asylum seekers were discovered while trapped under heavy snowfall on the Belarusian border, having lost their mobility due to extreme cold.
In a related incident, on Friday, October 12, 2023, Hemen Shamami-Zadeh, a 31 years old asylum seeker from Sardasht, lost his life due to severe cold in the forests on the border between Belarus and Poland.
