Abdanan: Teacher Ahmad Alizadeh Arrested to Serve 27-Month Prison Sentence

Ahmed Alizadeh, a teacher hailing from Abdanan in the Ilam province, has been apprehended and confined to prison to carry out a 27-month sentence. This cultural activist was apprehended during the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, November 4, 2023, Ahmed Alizadeh, a 50-year-old teacher, was detained and subsequently incarcerated following a summons and referral to the execution branch of the Public and Revolutionary Court in Abdanan.
This educator had previously been sentenced to a 27-month prison term by the Revolutionary Court of Ilam, facing charges of "propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran" and "confounding the public's sentiment."
Furthermore, Ahmad Alizadeh was subjected to supplementary penalties, encompassing two years of dismissal from his teaching position, two years of exile to Fanuj city in the Sistan-Balouchistan province, and a one-year prohibition from engaging in online activities.
Ahmed Alizadeh had been briefly detained on Saturday, January 7, 2023, after being summoned to the Abdanan court. His initial arrest took place in Abdanan in September 2022, during the Women, Life, Freedom movement, and he was granted temporary release on bail after a few days.
