Detention of Two Kurdish Clerics in Bukan City

Mamosta Hassan Amini and Mamosta Mahiaddin Mohammadzadeh, prominent Kurdish religious figures hailing from Saqqez, were apprehended by security forces in Bukan city.

According to reports obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Saturday, December 2, 2023, Mamosta Hasan Amini, serving as the cleric of the "Mollalar" village mosque, and Mamosta Mahiaddin Mohammadzadeh, the cleric of "Nowbar" village's mosque in Bukan, were taken into custody by the Intelligence Department.

Sources indicate that the arrest of these two religious figures from Saqqez occurred without the presentation of any legal documentation, followed by their subsequent transfer to an undisclosed location.
