The Demise of a Kolbar Due to Direct Fire from the Government Armed Forces

At the border of Baneh, a young kolbar named Ahvan Dashti lost his life due to direct fire from government armed forces. This marks the 17th case of Kolbars falling victim to direct fires from Iranian border regiment forces within the Baneh borderlines in less than nine months.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ahvan Dashti, a 28-year-old kolbar hailing from the village of "Miradeh" in Baneh, was fatally shot by Iranian border guards during the early morning hours of Monday, December 4, 2023.

Sources with knowledge of the matter reveal that the body of Ahvan Dashti, shot without any prior warning, has not been released to his family as of the time of reporting this news.

Based on statistics meticulously recorded by the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, this marks the 17th kolbar whose life has been cut short by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran within the Baneh border region in less than nine months.
